The two energies every goal needs
This season of light reminds me that true prosperity asks for both — the courage to act and the trust to receive.
This week, our family is celebrating Diwali — the festival of lights and one of my favorite reminders that new beginnings start from within.
The candles are still glowing, the house is filled with color, and I can feel that mix of reflection and renewal that always comes with this season.
For more than 25 years, Rishi and I have welcomed this time as our new year.
We gather with friends, create a colorful rangoli from lentils, and light candles around our home.
At the center sits one deepak filled with ghee — a small terracotta bowl that stays lit for three nights. It becomes the steady light that centers our home.
The ritual is simple — but its message runs deep.
Most people know Diwali as a celebration of light triumphing over darkness.
But what’s always moved me most is the balance it invites — between movement and stillness, effort and ease.
In the traditional stories, that balance is embodied by two sacred energies:
* the Goddess Lakshmi (divine feminine), who represents flow, beauty, and abundance,
* and the God Ganesha (divine masculine), who offers wisdom, clarity, and the removal of obstacles.
Together, they hold the full spectrum of prosperity.✨
Flow and clarity.
Grace and groundedness.
Soul and strategy.
It’s the same balance I try to live by: letting intuition lead while still taking the next aligned step.
Each morning, I offer a simple prayer:
“Thank you for the flow of prosperity and beauty.
Thank you for clearing the path and giving me courage in the face of obstacles.”
It’s my reminder that abundance isn’t about effort alone —it’s about harmony between being and doing.
It’s easy to forget that both energies live within us. One helps us open; the other helps us move forward.
💫 Your Turn — Embody Flow and Clarity
Take a moment to feel both energies in your body.
🔥 Inhale with flow energy — openness, beauty, receptivity.
🔥 Exhale with clarity energy — grounding, courage, strength.
Repeat a few cycles until you sense the two meeting in harmony — soft power, steady presence.
Then, as you move through your day, try this gentle check-in:
“Am I in flow or forcing?”
If you’re forcing, pause.
If you’re floating, focus.
Either way, you’re one breath away from balance.

Use these two prompts to bookend your day — one to begin in flow, one to end in reflection.
“Help me check in with my energy today. Am I in flow or forcing? What would help me rebalance?”
“Looking back on my day, where did I honor flow and where did I over-effort? What can I learn from that rhythm?”
Type either (or both) into Meredith AI Coach
You’ll get a short reflection to help you stay centered between the two poles of energy — flow and clarity, being and doing.
As you move through your own goals this season, notice which energy is leading.
Are you allowing what wants to flow toward you?
Are you acting with clarity on what’s already here?
True prosperity asks for both: the courage to act and the trust to receive.
Wishing you and your loved ones a luminous Diwali.🪔
+Big Love,
Meredith
